Health gardens therapy is a relatively new discipline of landscape science of which many fields of research are still undiscovered. While researching the international scientific literature the more underlying theories of the health gardens need to be considered as well. In Latvia the development of senses gardens has not been enough explored. Purpose: Based on the international sensation, treatment and therapy garden studies establish perspectives for sustainable development of therapy gardens in Latvia. Materials and Methods: Summarize literature on the impact of the Latvian rehabilitation centre and medical treatment worldwide on people as well as to study information used in the Latvian statistical data bases, historical papers, scientific research literature, publications, documents, and electronic resources analysis. To explore health and rehabilitation garden sustainable development and to create new opportunities to improve their residents’ mental health. Such garden visits not only develop feelings and senses of a small child or a teenage, but also enable residents of any age with various disabilities to spend their free time interactively. In the research process the landscape space of Latvian rehabilitation centers was inspected and analyzed within the social context. The centers were singled out not only by their aesthetical quality, but also by their functional landscape values contained. Rehabilitation gardens and parks are spaces, where people do more than receive medical treatment, they can relax surrounded by nature, engage in physical activities and rest without taking into account ones social status, age, gender, nationality, political views and religion. The goal is to summarize how Latvian rehabilitation gardens and parks promote patients’ physical activities in open space and analyze the functional quality of landscape of Latvian rehabilitation gardens and parks. Considering the quality of rehabilitation center environment, it is important to evaluated their accessibility and usability by possibly greater user spectrum that is characterized as a universal design. In Latvia a conceptual direction of design like this is relatively new, but already positively accepted and applied by specialists. Open space designs of rehabilitation center landscaping directly influence how a person feels and lives in the landscape. They sculpt not only the material quality of the environment, but also improve people’s communication facility and attitude towards one another. It is important for the environment of Latvian rehabilitation institutions to be friendly, because they are created for the use by all social groups and individuals by applying universal standard principles for open space improvement. Article in English.

The aim of the bachelor's thesis "Gender Representation in Marvel Films" is to explore how gender is represented, what the differences in representation are, and what stereotypes are used. The problem with the study is that, although the film industry has taken steps towards gender equality, it is impossible to ignore the reality of the gender stereotypes. Given that Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one of the giants of mass culture, it has a strong impact on society. The theoretical part deals with topics such as representation, cinematic language and gender. In the methodological part, two qualitative research methods are considered, such as semiotic analysis and narrative analysis. In the empirical part, using the chosen methods, the analysis of films according to specific criteria is performed. The work concludes that MCU's gender representation has improved over the years, is incomplete, and still practices gender stereotypes, but recent and upcoming films show growth in representation, not only in terms of gender, but also in terms of race and sexuality

Dense glass-ceramic composite materials (bulk density 2.5 – 2.7 g/cm3; water uptake 0.9 – 5.5 %) were produced from waste glass, steel cooling refuse, aluminium scrap metal processing waste and carbonate less clay. The functional properties of these novel materials as well as their environmental impact were detected. Some mechanical characteristics such as ultimate stress (σ*) of these materials were determined by four point bending, results are comparable to building ceramics. The correlation between structure, composition and properties of sintered glass-ceramic materials as a function of sintering temperature rate was studied. Ecotoxicity of glassceramic containing industrial waste was determined by Daphnia magna ecotoxicity test (LVS EN ISO 6341:1996). LC50 concentrations were measured
